Microsoft Launches Seven New MAI Models, Including Flagship Reasoning ModelMicrosoft AI today announced a family of seven new in-house models, marking a major step toward building what the company calls a "superintelligence lab." The lineup includes MAI-Thinking-1 (a reasoning model that beats Sonnet 4.6 in blind evaluations), MAI-Code-1-Flash (a 5B-parameter coding model for GitHub Copilot), MAI-Transcribe-1.5 (claiming SOTA accuracy in 43 languages), MAI-Image-2.5, and MAI-Voice-2. OpenAI Upgrades Codex With Enterprise "Sites," Role-Specific Plugins, and Annotations
OpenAI announced a significant Codex update at Microsoft's BUILD conference week, introducing "Sites" — a rapid web-hosting feature that turns documents and data into shareable internal apps — plus six role-specific plugin bundles covering 62 business apps including Snowflake, Figma, and Salesforce. Anthropic Confidentially Files for IPO at Near-Trillion-Dollar Valuation
Anthropic has filed confidential IPO papers with U.S. regulators, becoming the latest AI giant to eye public markets. The company raised $65 billion at a $965B valuation in late May, and its revenue run rate has crossed $47 billion — up from $87M in January 2024. Claude Code alone is generating over $2.5B in annualized revenue. The filing comes as rival OpenAI is also htmlreported to be preparing its own IPO, with both companies testing Wall Street's appetite for frontier AI at scale.

Florida Becomes First State to Sue OpenAI and Sam Altman Over ChatGPT Harms
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier filed an 83-page lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman on Monday, claiming the company knowingly released a dangerous product while concealing internal safety warnings. The suit alleges ChatGPT has aided mass shooters, driven vulnerable users to suicide, and failed to protect minors — with no age verification on the free tier. Uthmeier is seeking to hold Altman personally liable under Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. The AG said he expects other states to follow suit.

Archestra Raises $10M to Secure AI Agent Access to Corporate Data
U.K.-based startup Archestra closed a $10M seed round led by 20VC to expand its open-source platform that governs how AI agents access sensitive enterprise data. The company originally built a security layer for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and now targets regulated industries. The round included participation from Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel and HubSpot's SVP of Agentic GTM. Total funding now stands at $13.5M.
