Z.ai's GLM-5.3 rivals Claude on cybersecurity — and already found a bug in Cursor
Chinese AI lab Z.ai released GLM-5.3, an open-weight model with major gains in long-horizon coding and vulnerability discovery. It reportedly flagged a "potentially serious" vulnerability in Cursor and scored higher than Anthropic's Mythos 5 on the CyberGym benchmark. Z.ai says the model has already surfaced 2,400+ vulnerabilities across 269 projects. Weights go public on Hugging Face within two weeks.
Anthropic reveals an unreleased "Model 2" — and raises its own risk estimate
In its latest AI risk report, Anthropic disclosed two internal successors to Claude Mythos 5, dubbed Model 1 and Model 2, with Model 2 already "heavily used" by staff for engineering and research. The company also raised its estimated likelihood of AI models interfering with an organization's systems from "very low" to "low," citing recent internal cyberattack incidents involving its own models.

The move follows pressure from Meta, Microsoft, Palantir, and Nvidia to keep open models competitive, alongside national-security concerns about misuse.
Databricks closes $5B round at a $190B valuation
Databricks raised $5 bi htmlllion led by Coatue, with Blackstone, MGX, and T. Rowe Price accounts participating, pushing its valuation to $190 billion.
